Will’s Birthday

March 28th, 2010 by matt

He’s one!  Our littlest man isn’t so little.  He had a great time celebrating with family and friends.  He was exhausted by 7pm and retired a little early in true party spirit.

For fun, I thought I’d include pictures of the other children from their first birthday parties.  Here is Benjamin back in 2001 opening some presents at Grandma and Grandpa Enwald’s house.

Here is Grace showing off her birthday stuff with Jill in 2003.

Here is Max, our messiest birthday monkey in 2008.

We’re so thankful for all our children!

Like a kid in a toy store

March 26th, 2010 by matt

We made a quick stop at ShopKo and Max had a blast.  We had him try out some of the little bikes and of course he had to touch everything.  He gravitated to the nerf gun aisle and kept asking “Open pew pew?”  Max’s word for gun is “pew pew” because that is the noise he thinks they make.

Just wait until he starts earning an allowance…

Spring Excitement

March 25th, 2010 by matt

Wednesday nights are my time with the little boys.  This week we played outside until dark.  We hiked through our back yard and played in the leaves.

Max joined in and they thought the situation was quite funny.

Max goes down the slide on the playset by himself and is enjoying being pushed high on the swing much more now.  A little bit of a thrill seeker.  Max also pushes Will in the swing, only after putting up a fight to give up his turn for a while.

I have to share a couple more.  I don’t know how we’re going to get these two inside at all this summer.

Up next – Will’s birthday on Sunday!

Caroline’s Baby Shower

March 21st, 2010 by matt

Mama-to-be Caroline with co-hostess Leslie.  Baby “G” is due April 16.

What a fantastic time Leslie and I had putting together Caroline’s shower!

My fabulous sister helped make the guest’s Thank You gifts…

Delicious lemon creme sandwich cookies and coconut pyramids.

Another dessert…just not as delicious.  A diaper cake with a bottle of champagne hidden inside – to help Caroline and Matt through that first night at home!

Decorations were simple, yet adorable!  Tiny onesies paired with baby pics of Caroline and Matt.

As mentioned in a previous post, Ben and Grace were blessed enough to receive Nintendo DSi game systems for Christmas.  They have proved to be popular toys.  Max has taken interest in them as well.  He enjoys looking at the pictures Ben and Grace have taken as well as moving icons around with the stylus.

Left to their own devices, I think the boys would have spent all afternoon on the couch in their PJs!  We’re thankful we’re on the edge of some warm weather as outdoor activities like the playset and catch are becoming the top priority.

Will Climbs Stairs

March 21st, 2010 by matt

Our precious little baby Will is growing up so quickly.  He can pull himself up to standing but still insists on using the army crawl for his main method of transportation.  When Ben was Will’s age, he could walk; however, when Grace was Will’s age, she wasn’t even crawling.  They are all unique.

Will’s latest trick is climbing stairs.  He does it surprisingly well but takes a spill every now and then.  We can’t turn our heads for a moment!  Good thing we’re pros at baby-proofing our house.

Will took a slip off the step right after this picture was taken.  No damage done, the boy knows how to tumble.

Riding the Costco Train

March 21st, 2010 by matt

In case you missed it, our children know how to play with our Costco bounty by Riding the Costco Pony.  Here is the next phase, riding the train.

Yes, all our rolls of toilet paper and paper towels are crushed.

Will’s New Blanket

Will now has a beautiful blanket that matches Max’s in style but not color.

Thanks Hillary and the Gilles family!

Grandpa’s Little Helper

March 21st, 2010 by matt

Grandpa was busy cleaning some of the glass in our kitchen when Max took serious interest in this activity.  Of course.  Here he is being a super helper.

Those are Max’s favorite boots.  Mine, too.

Playsaucer Enters Retirement

March 21st, 2010 by matt

Now that our fourth child has grown up with the playsaucer and has become agile enough to climb inside it, we’ve decided it has served us well and was put away for good.  Will watched Max climb on it and of course had to follow suit.

I gave Will some time, figuring eventually he’d realize he was stuck and then either complain or panic.  Max kept it fun for him by spinning the whole saucer around like a merry-go-round.  I think Will would have enjoyed this all night if I would have let him.

I’m keeping a close eye on this dynamic duo of younger Enwald boys.
