Brotherly Love

May 29th, 2009 by matt

Max and Will are getting along already.  Max takes interest and concern in the “baby” as he calls him, and Will is quick to forgive pokes and slaps.  Sarah captured this moment where Max was trying to pick up Will.

What a good little helper.  We have to keep a close eye on him!

Grace’s First Piano Recital

At her first recital, Grace had a duet with Miss Sandi and was the music beautiful!  All the practicing is worth it.

“Gentle…Be nice” or otherwise known as William

May 18th, 2009 by sarah

Max loves William. He loves poking him, touching his head, trying to pick him up, rocking the carseat, trying to feed him cheese puffs, rocking the swing…We tell him “be gentle, be nice” so much that we are convinced he is going to think William’s name is “begentlebenice”.

Will is definitely a baby

I’m responding to some requests to see more pictures of Will.  He is growing up fast, so here is a quick mug shot of our chubby little guy taken with my phone.

He’s doing great!  He’s not quite sleeping through the night yet, but we’re managing.

Max Rocks

May 18th, 2009 by matt

Max has always loved music, even as an infant.  He has some awesome dance moves!  He likes to carry my iphone around like a boombox while listening to mp3s.  He also loves the Blues Clues sing along, thanks Hillary.  A lot.

Congruent with  previous posts, Max requires participation whenever anyone plays Rock Band.  He’s an animal on drums…

and guitar

His singing is interesting to listen to.  He definitely likes putting the mic in his mouth and yelling.

Max found his sandals

We updated our kid’s shoe wardrobe, and bought Max a pair of sandals. He came across them after nap one afternoon and wanted them onimg_03351…immediately!

My Girl

May 18th, 2009 by sarah

Being the proud mom of now THREE BOYS (!!!) I have to make sure to take a break from the noise and chaos and do something special with my special girl. Grace and I spent the morning before Mother’s Day at Alterra and then to the salon to get pedicures. True to Grace’s form, she immediately went for the “Wicked Witch of the West” green nail polish for her toes. It’s an interesting color to say the least, especially on the toes. But the finished product was made a little better with the addition of a flower and “sparkle” on her big toe. Here is Grace in the pedicure chair, looking very grown up.img_03361

William’s Dedication

May 18th, 2009 by matt

We dedicated William at church last week.  Thanks to pastor Bill for his words of wisdom.  Its going to be a challenge to raise four children, but we think we’re up for it.

Max loves outside

May 6th, 2009 by matt

If you happen to said the word “outside” around Max, he will run to the door and become quite angry if you don’t follow through on your word.  Ben and Grace enjoyed the outside but I think Max appreciates it more because he has even more space.  Here he is taking off into the back woods.

He doesn’t seem to mind the prickers and thistles too much.  He’s a tough little guy!  He loves to sit on the stump by the fire pit.  Just wait until we actually have a fire this year!

Father/Daughter Dance

May 6th, 2009 by matt

Here we are just before we were on our way to the annual Father/Daughter dance at Grace’s school.

This was the day after Grace lost two teeth.  She was left with only one tooth on top and in the front and this final tooth was loose.  The final tooth really started to wiggle around once we got to the dance and we spent a lot of the time at the dance with napkins trying to liberate it.

We took a step outside to get some more light.

And Grace yanked it right out!  She got to show all of her friends her tooth and got yet another visit from the tooth fairy.  Father/Daughter dance success!
